چکیده

Multidimensional Continued Fraction Algorithms are generalizations of the Euclid algorithm and find iteratively the gcd of two or more numbers. They are defined as linear applications on some subcone of R. We consider multidimensional continued fraction algorithms that acts symmetrically on the positive cone R+ for d = 3. We include well-known and old ones (Poincaré, Brun, Selmer, Fully Subtractive) and new ones (Arnoux-Rauzy-Poincaré, Reverse, Cassaigne). For each algorithm, one page (called cheat sheet) gathers a handful of informations most of them generated with the open source software Sage [9] with the optional Sage package slabbe-0.2.spkg [5]. The information includes the n-cylinders, density function of an absolutely continuous invariant measure, domain of the natural extension, lyapunov exponents as well as data regarding combinatorics on words, symbolic dynamics and digital geometry, that is, associated substitutions, generated S-adic systems, factor complexity, discrepancy, dual substitutions and generation of digital planes. The document ends with a table of comparison of Lyapunov exponents and gives the code allowing to reproduce any of the results or figures appearing in these cheat sheets.

Continued Fraction Algorithms, Functional Operators, and Structure Constants

Continued fractions lie at the heart of a number of classical algorithms like Euclid's greatest common divisor algorithm or the lattice reduction algorithm of Gauss that constitutes a 2-dimensional generalization. This paper surveys the main properties of functional operators, |transfer operators| due to Ruelle and Mayer (also following L evy, Kuzmin, Wirs-ing, Hensley, and others) that describ...

Lyapunov Exponents for Non-classical Multidimensional Continued Fraction Algorithms

We introduce a simple geometrical two-dimensional continued fraction algorithm inspired from dynamical renormalization. We prove that the algorithm is weakly convergent, and that the associated transformation admits an ergodic absolutely continuous invariant probability measure. Following Lagarias, its Lyapunov exponents are related to the approximation exponents which measure the diophantine q...

Balancedness of Arnoux-Rauzy and Brun Words

We study balancedness properties of words given by the Arnoux-Rauzy and Brun multi-dimensional continued fraction algorithms. We show that almost all Brun words on 3 letters and Arnoux-Rauzy words over arbitrary alphabets are finitely balanced; in particular, boundedness of the strong partial quotients implies balancedness. On the other hand, we provide examples of unbalanced Brun words on 3 le...

Geometry, Dynamics, and Arithmetic of S-adic Shifts

This paper studies geometric and spectral properties of S-adic shifts and their relation to continued fraction algorithms. Pure discrete spectrum for S-adic shifts and tiling properties of associated Rauzy fractals are established under a generalized Pisot assumption together with a geometric coincidence condition. These general results extend the scope of the Pisot substitution conjecture to t...
